When you leave a comment, this site collects data for anti-spamming purposes.

The site may send an anonymized string (a “hash”) from your e-mail address to Gravatar, to see whether you are using it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if you have one) will be visible in the comment. Go to https://automattic.com/privacy to view Gravatar’s Privacy Policy. 

Also, if you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, e-mail address, and website (if you have one) in the form of cookies. This is just so that you don’t have to put in your information every time you leave a comment. These cookies last for one year.

The site retains comments and their metadata indefinitely, so that later comments can be automatically approved instead of being left in a queue for moderation.
